Each year Barking Bateria makes noticable (and audible) additions to a series of events in London and the south of England. Many are one-offs, but there are a few are regular occurances and have become associated with the band. a

As well as the ones specifically mentioned below, it is also rare not to see the band at various Anti-war demos, other demonstrations for social/political change and Environmental concern, and Gay Pride. On the rare occaision we cannot get a whole band to attend such an event, many of our members will go along and join one of the other samba bands known on the demonstrations scene, such as Rhythms of Resistance or Cardboard Citizens.

Each year we are also regular faces at certain events, such as the Sussex bonfire celebrations:- huge street parties with costumes, flaming torches, music and of course, lots of beer! Over the Summer solstice, along with RAG (Radical Anthropology Group) we organise a week-long trip to beautiful Avebury, to drum at the dawn of the solstice at Stonehenge, and we also lurve throwing HUGE parties each year. check out the pages to the right for more details of each!
