Barking Bateria practices every Thursday evening at University of East London, Docklands campus, (Cypress DLR station) between 7pm and 9pm. We are an open group and welcome anyone who would like to come along and join us. No experience of music or drumming is necessary and instruments are provided for practice and gigs.
We use a variety of nine different samba instruments and employ the basis of Brazilian rhythms to blend our own unique style and sound, which varies from the traditional samba reggaes to bhangra, jungle, funk and some traditional Benin sounds, plus the sounds we come up with while jamming! We are occasionally joined by other instruments such as Bass, Guitar, Trumpets, electronic music and singing as we are very open to new sounds. We welcome musical & creative contributions from all of our members.

Each session we ask for a contribution of £2.00 to help cover our costs. So, whatever your experience, talent or interest, why not come along and join us?
The first session you attend is always free, so why not come along and see what you think.
